After Less Than A Year In Business, Dominic's Table Shutters In La Jolla

February 27, 2019

Dominic's Table opened last spring in the nearly 8,000 square-foot indoor/outdoor space in La Jolla that long housed Roppongi, but the Italian/Mediterranean/Japanese fusion concept has closed and the business is currently for sale.

After 17 years serving up Asian fusion food in La Jolla, Sami Ladecki's Roppongi shuttered in November 2015, leaving its space empty for more than 2 years before chef and restarateur Dominic Tedesco noticed it during a visit to San Diego. Tedesco - a frequent television culinary personality & former head chef for MGM Grand who was living and working in Las Vegas at the time - was in America's Finest City visiting a friend who was undergoing surgery when he spotted the prime restaurant location and it just felt all too right. In June 2018, Tedesco opened Dominic's Table with a mostly Italian menu but also a Mediterranean-style raw bar and Japanese sushi bar.

We reached out to Dominic Tedesco for comment about the closure, but he failed to respond. The former Dominic's Table space at 875 Prospect Street is currently seeking a new tenant.
