Combination Blue Ocean Sushi & Harumama Restaurant To Open In Former The Hake Space In La Jolla

May 2, 2019

Moving into the prime space perched above La Jolla Shores that last housed The Hake is a combination concept restaurant from Instagram-sensation Harumama Noodles & Buns and Carlsbad-born Blue Ocean Robata & Sushi.

Husband and wife restaurateurs James & Jenny Pyo will open their 9th San Diego restaurant along the sunny shores of La Jolla Village. The couple has so far founded such area eateries as Love Boat Sushi in San Marcos and Oceanside, Harumama restaurants in Little Italy & Carlsbad, Blue Ocean Robata & Sushi Bar in Carlsbad, Blue Smoke Sushi in Fashion Valley Mall, and two Pokewan locations.

Details for the La Jolla joint concept locations of Blue Ocean & Harumama are still in development with an expected opening as early as late August/September. The restaurants are in the process of installing within the more than 5,000 square-foot space above La Jolla Shores in the complex that also houses Donovan's La Jolla and George's at the Cove. To compliment the sprawling ocean views, the eatery will have a full bar and serve an expansive Asian fusion menu that includes animal-shaped steamed buns, sushi, ramen, and an expanded lineup of dishes inspired by Japanese, Chinese, and Korean cultures.

Blue Ocean Sushi & Harumama will sit at 1250 Prospect Street, STE B10, in San Diego's La Jolla neighborhood. For more information, visit blueoceanrobatasushi.com and harumamasd.com.
