The Hake Shutters In La Jolla

April 20, 2018

So much for location, location, location! After closing in early 2016 for a ten-month, multi-million dollar makeover and reopening in a newly renovated 5,000-plus square-foot space with expansive ocean views perched atop La Jolla Cove, The Hake restaurant has closed for business.

A seafood-centric restaurant which reopened in October 2016 after relocating to its prime space atop La Jolla Cove and undergoing a $2.5Million renovation, The Hake lost Executive Chef Aarti Sanghavi last September after an alleged mutiny in the kitchen, and we reported in January that the restaurnat was listed for sale, so the closure comes as little surprise to many. Mexico City-based designer Jorge Campos designed the restaurant to offer a casual lounge feel with a modern bar and increased outdoor seating to take advantage of its picturesque ocean views. The 5,783 square-foot eatery is still listed for sale by San Diego's Location Matters at the price of $595,000.

The Hake is located at 1250 Prospect Street, STE B10, in San Diego's La Jolla neighborhood. For more information, visit thehake.com.
