From partners Tom Tarantino, Antonia Buono and Vincenzo Bruno - who opened RoVino in summer 2016 on a quiet stretch of Kettner Boulevard in San Diego's Little Italy - The Foodery will be a nearly 5,000 square-foot, one-stop-shop for all things Italian. Upon entering, guests will be greeted by a large Italian deli counter showcasing imported and domestic cheeses and a full bakery that will offer daily baked artisan breads and fresh Neapolitan pizzas. There will also be a specialty market featuring prepared food items, Italian beers and wines, a gelato bar, a full bakery, a coffee bar with freshly brewed Illy coffees, Neapolitan pizzas, fresh pastas, sauces, salads and more. The Foodery will also house a wine bar with an onsite RoVino casual-concept Italian restaurant.
This is not the first all-inclusive Italian deli, market and restaurant to test the waters in San Diego. Both Bottega Americano in East Village and Roma Italian Market in Little Italy attempted such a feat, only to close after a short tenure.
RoVino The Foodery is expected to open this summer at 969 Market Street in San Diego's East Village. For more information, visit rovinothefoodery.com.
