Philippines-Based Neighborhood Tavern Chain Gerry's Grill To Open San Diego Location

With more than 100 locations around the globe, Philippines–based Gerry's Grill will soon bring Filipino comfort foods to San Diego with the opening of its first area location.

Founded by high school friends Gerardo Apolinario and Jerome Ngo in Quezon City, Philippines in 1997, Gerry's Grill now has approximately 130 locations dotted around Southeast Asia. Qatar and the United States. Gerry's Grill will soon install within the space currently occupied by El Torito in Westfield Plaza Bonita in National City.

Gerry’s Grill will offer a lengthy menu of Filipino favorites like inihaw na pusit grilled squid, lumpia spring rolls, lechon kawali fried pork belly, crispy pata deep fried pig trotters, and sizzling sisig, which is the company's top selling dish with more than 10 million sold. The restaurant will have a festive sports bar atmosphere and offer a full liquor list with cocktails, beer and wine. To ensure consistency with its other locations, management is flying in kitchen staff from the Philippines to oversee training.
