A chicken wing competition will take over Maverick's Beach Club in Pacific Beach on Saturday, August 17, from 1-5pm, featuring 9 local restaurants vying for the title of Lord of the Wings.
Who will win the official Lord of the Wings Title? You can help decide! Join us at the new location, Maverick’s at the Beach for a chicken wing contest with local restaurants and businesses competing for the title of Lord of the Wings!
At last year's Lord of the Wings, Maverick's Beach Club won the title, so they wanted to host the event for the 2019 incarnation. Other participating restaurants serving up wings include SD TapRoom, Pacific Beach Shore Club, Bub’s at the Beach, Tavern at the Beach, Moonshine Beach, SandBox Pizza & Pints, The Local Pacific Beach, and The Duck Dive. There will also be several breweries in attendance pouring ice cold pints, including Coronado Brewing, Mike Hess Brewing and Truly Hard Seltzer.
Tickets to the Lord of the Wings challenge are $25 in advance and $30 on the day of the event. Passes include entry, chicken wing samples from all participating restaurants and one drink ticket. Additional drinks will be available for purchase for $5 a drink. Get your tickets online before the event sells out.
