40-Year-Old Black Angus Steakhouse In San Diego's East County To Be Replaced By In-N-Out & Starbucks

September 27, 2019

The 40-year-old Black Angus Steakhouse location in San Diego's Grantville area will soon shutter to be replaced by new outposts of In-N-Out Burger and Starbucks Coffee.

The Black Angus Steakhouse restaurant at 10370 Friars Road in the Riverdale Shopping Center off in Grantville, which opened in 1979, was denied a new lease earlier this year. The property owner, Becker Properties LLC, chose to instead rent the space to hugely popular chains In-N-Out Burger and Starbucks Coffee, which are not expected to open until late 2020. Another non-drive-thru Starbucks is located in the shopping center across the street from Black Angus. There is no word when Black Angus will officially close for business. There are also other San Diego locations of Black Angus Steakhouse in El Cajon, Chula Vista and Escondido.
