Holy Paleta To Add Boozy Ice Pops To Menu For Little Italy Location

September 26, 2019

Bonita-based Holy Paleta is in the process of opening a paletero in San Diego's Little Italy which will offer a large variety of frozen popsicles, including boozy varieties like Michelada, Paloma and Sangria, as well as variations made to be paired with wine and beer.

From Luis & Angelica Gonzalez, who also own Lupe's Mexican Eatery in Linda Vista, Holy Paleta opened its first location in Bonita last summer, offering an eclectic menu of handmade frozen paletas in the style of those made famous in the Mexican state of Michoacán. Favorite offerings include Strawberry Mint, Pineapple Basil, Matcha Latte, Cookies 'N Cream, and Chamango, which can be outfitted with a vast array of toppings.

Unlike the South County branch, the Little Italy store will have a beer and wine license, allowing it to offer boozy varieties like Sangria, as well as popsicle pairing offerings. There will also be a menu with cold brew coffee and horchata drinks.

Holy Paleta hopes to open at 2040 India Street in San Diego's Little Italy at some point this October. For more information, visit holypaleta.com.
