September 6, 2019

Ben & Jerry’s is hitting the road this summer with a series of events showcasing the delicious world of plant-based dining, and they will be stopping in San Diego on September 13 to host Dessert'd, a chef-inspired, plant-based evening to dazzle taste buds. We are raffling off two tickets to attend so read on and be sure to enter!

Vermont-based Ben & Jerry ice cream company is teaming up with award-winning chefs in San Diego, Atlanta, Burlington and Denver to unveil an over the top, one-night-only-dessert created for each city. San Diego’s "non-expected" event will be hosted by celebrity chef Melissa d’Arabian on September 13, from 6-8pm at 32 North Brewing Co., located at 8655 Production Avenue in Miramar. Attendees of the ticketed event will enjoy plant-based small bites, hors d’oeuvres, custom cocktails and a special brew created by 32 North Brewing to complement the evening’s finale dessert. The culinary experience will include an all-you-can-eat array of Ben & Jerry’s ten non-dairy flavors and a live dessert cooking demo by Chef Melissa, who will be working with Ben & Jerry’s Flavor Guru Natalia Butler.

"We put a lot of effort into developing a non-dairy line that was just as indulgent as our ice cream," said Butler. "We know vegan versions of our favorite foods had a rough start, but that’s in the past. Chefs and home cooks are now able to create beautiful, tantalizing vegan dishes using fresh, locally-grown and curated products. This culinary evening will prove it."

Melissa d’Arabian is best known as a television host, best-selling author and mom of four. She is an expert on elegant, affordable home cooking. After she won the fifth season of The Next Food Network Star, she went on to host Ten Dollar Dinners on Food Network. Her latest book, just released, is called Tasting Grace.

Tickets for the evening experience are available online for $15 in advance and $20 the day of the event. Proceeds will go to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, a non-profit supported by d’Arabian. Ben & Jerry’s has hinted that if one of the exclusive dessert creations proves exceptionally popular and delicious, the Flavor Gurus will consider adding a version to the company’s national Scoop Shop menu in the future.
