Surf & Soul Spot Will Bring Soul Food To San Diego's East County

January 6, 2020

Previously operated out of a small banquet hall within a local church, Surf & Soul Spot has secured a new location and is now serving soul food in San Diego's East County.

Founded in 2018, Surf & Soul garnered a local reputation for its authentic soul food from its original location within Gospel Center Church of God in Mountain View. The eatery garnered positive reviews for its rotating menu of soul food staples, including favorites like shrimp and grits, fried catfish sandwiches, gravy smothered fries, fried pork chops, and a blackened shrimp and crab roll. Surf & Soul Chef Sarajevo Petty recently teamed up with former NFL prospect Sergio Baily II to open a permanent brick-and-mortar eatery within the space previously occupied by Ranchwood BBQ.

Surf & Soul Seafood Soulfood Takeout is now open at 7229 El Cajon Boulevard in West La Mesa. For more information, visit surfandsoulspot.com and check out the menu below.
