California Governor Issues Emergency Orders Banning Sales Of Alcohol & Cannabis Products

April 1, 2020

To further slow down the rapid spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, California Governor Gavin Newson has issued an emergency order calling for the immediate stoppage of sales of any alcohol and cannabis shops, deeming those businesses to be non-essential.

Adding to the ever-expanding "social distancing" and "flattening the curve" precautions being put in place to stop the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus, California has announced an order to be effective immediately banning the sale of any alcohol or cannabis products, except for alcohol in large-scale grocery chains like Von's, Trader Joe's, Costco and Ralph's. The mayor of Denver, CO, did this same thing last week and was forced to re-open marijuana and liquor shops only hours after announcing their closure because residents flocked to the shops to panic buy alcohol and marijuana the night before the lockdown came into force.

April Fools! We still need to embrace humor in light of all this turmoil and continue to be appreciative for all we have. Seriously though, it better not come to banning the sale of alcohol or marijuana! Stay safe & well. We love you, San Diego!
