The 5th area location of modern Mexican taqueria The Taco Stand will open in the space that currently houses Cauldron Ice Cream in the small retail plaza that also includes RakiRaki, O'Brien's Pub and Crab Hut in San Diego's Kearny Mesa.
Owned by Aram Baloyan and Julian Hakin, The Taco Stand opened its first location in La Jolla in November 2013 and now has restaurants in downtown San Diego, Encinitas, and North Park, as well as Orange County and Miami. Inspired by the food stands of Tijuana, the counter service chain of eateries has an old-world taco stand décor and offers a menu with a variety of tacos, burritos, quesadillas, smothered fries and Mexican side dishes. The Kearny Mesa outpost will also serve beer, micheladas, cocktails and Mexican soft drinks.
The newest The Taco Stand will be located at 4646 Convoy Street, Suites 111 & 112, in San Diego's Kearny Mesa. There is currently no timeline on when it will open. For more information, visit letstaco.com.
