Coronado's Primavera Ristorante Permanently Shutters After More Than 30 Years In Business

May 14, 2020

The owners of Primavera Ristorante in Coronado took to social media today to announce their restaurant would permanently close after more than three decades in business.

Jeannette & Cristos Stavros founded Primavera Ristorante on Orange Avenue in Coronado in 1989. Following Cristos' death, Jeannette operated the Northern Italian-inspired restaurant with her daughter, Denise. The eatery has been closed since March 16 as a result of precautions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, but owners announced today that the closure would be indefinite.

"Serving our Coronado community has brought us immense joy for more than 30 years, so it is with a heavy heart that we announce that we will not be reopening," Jeannette Stavros on Primavera's social media accounts. "In 1989, my husband, Cristos and I opened Primavera. Built on his belief that fine Italian cuisine and treating people like family would be the recipe to success, we have hosted generations of guests. After his passing, my daughter Denise and I continued to run our family restaurant with the values instilled by my husband. To our beloved team – you are like family. We will miss you greatly! To our many guests throughout the years, thank you for being a part of our story."

Primavera is located at 932 Orange Avenue in Coronado. The Stavros family owns the building where the restaurant is housed and will likely be looking to find a new tenant.
