Mediterranean Street Food Chain Nick The Greek To Open San Diego Location

May 15, 2020

Rapidly expanding souvlaki and gyro chain Nick The Greek is opening in downtown San Diego, taking over the East Village space that last housed Oscars Mexican Seafood.

Nick the Greek was founded in 2014 in San Jose, CA, by three cousins, each with exactly the same name - Nick Tsigaris. The cousins grew up with parents in the restaurant business and inspired to open a fast-casual chain of eateries focused on Greek street food. There are currently twelve Nick The Greek locations around California. The San Diego branch will be operated by franchisees Anita & Jeffery Poppe and Robert Crider.

The menu at Nick the Greek includes gyros and pita sandwiches, salads, souvlaki plates, falafel, fries, hummus, bowls and a few desserts. The San Diego outpost will also serve beer and wine. Expect Nick the Greek's San Diego location to open this September.

Nick The Greek will sit at 927 J Street in San Diego's East Village. For more information, visit nickthegreeksj.com.
