San Diego's only Michelin-starred restaurant, Addison at The Grand Del Mar, will reopen on Saturday, August 1, with a new al fresco rooftop space overlooking Los Penasquitos Canyon.
"I have thought long and hard about how I wanted to re-enter this space," wrote Addison founder and executive chef William Bradley. "During this pandemic and with the closing of my restaurant I had the privilege of being home with my family, safe and healthy. Not all have been so fortunate. As a chef, my heart has broken for so many fellow restaurants that have been forced to close indefinitely and in some cases permanently, the life work of so many wondering how to feed their families and what their future holds. It has been inconceivable. Most importantly though, are the lives lost to this virus, the families torn apart and the unthinkable sorrow of losing someone that you can’t even see to say goodbye. So what can I do as a Chef? And what can we do as a restaurant? How can we make a meaningful contribution?"
Chef William Bradley opened Addison at what is now the Fairmont Grand Del Mar in 2006 and the restaurant was quickly regarded as the top spot for French fine dining in all of San Diego. Addison is know for offering a luxurious dining experience that reflects Bradley's meticulous approach to the craft of cooking with personalized service led by Maitre D’ Sean McGinness. The hilltop eatery offers only a 5 and a ten-course tasting menu, with the option for a supplemental cheese course from Addison's custom, marble-topped cart.
