San Diego's The Fishery Restaurant To Host California-Mediterranean-Inspired Collaboration Dinners

August 6, 2020

For 2 night only, The Fishery Executive Chef Mike Reidy will be joined by his good friend Chef Travis Swikard, a longtime protégé of Celebrity Chef Daniel Boulud who is currently in the process of building his own restaurant in San Diego's East Village. Together the powerhouse culinary duo will create a California-Mediterranean-inspired menu using local ingredients.

This past May, Ironside Fish & Oyster alum Mike Reidy took over as Executive Chef of Pacific Beach's nearly 25 year-old The Fishery. On the evenings of August 25 & 26, Chef Mikey will collaborate with San Diego native Travis Swikard, who is currently in the process of opening Callie - a Mediterranean-inspired, California-driven restaurant in partnership with Cohn Restaurant Group that is currently under construction in the 6,500-square-foot East Village space that last housed Bottega Americano. Prior to moving back to San Diego in 2018, Swikard was the Executive Chef of iconic French chef Daniel Boulud's famed Boulud Sud restaurant in New York City. Swikard was also the culinary director of Bar Boulud and Epicerie Boulud.

Dubbed "A California Mediterranean Evening at The Fishery", expect a unique menu of between 5-10 additional dishes developed by Chef Swikard featuring local seafood, Chino Farms fruits and vegetables, Maciel Family Farms produce and even locally sourced lamb. There will also be a list of Mediterranean inspired cocktails created by The Fishery bar manager Matt Fitzgerald, who previously worked at the American Bar inside the Savoy London, as well as wines from Turkey, Corsica, Sicily, Lebanon and Morocco. Most dishes will priced under $30 and paired with a wine from the Mediterranean. The Fishery's full summer menu will also be available.

Those looking for reservations to experience A California Mediterranean Evening at The Fishery should call the restaurant at 858.272.9985. Seating is very limited so act fast. The Fishery is located at 5040 Cass Street in San Diego's Pacific Beach. For more information, visit thefishery.com.
