San Diego International Film Festival & Westfield UTC Team Up For Drive-In Movie Pop-Up

September 13, 2020

The San Diego International Film Festival has teamed up with Westfield UTC in La Jolla to transform one of the mall's parking lots into a drive-in cinema for two weekends this September.

With statewide COVID-19 precautions still in full effect, the San Diego International Film Festival has had to put their annual fall fest on hold but will still be holding a variety of virtual events and interactive online panels. The organizers have also teamed up with Westfield UTC mall to launch a two-weekend drive-in pop-up on September 18, 29, 25 & 26. The limited series will kick off with the film Knives Out on Friday, September 16, followed by Ferris Bueller's Day Off, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and finishing with the Beatles-based romantic comedy Yesterday on Saturday, September 26. Some of the mall's restaurants will also be offering specials to patrons of the drive-in, including a free shake from Shake Shack with a ticket stub and orders over $20 and a box of 12 empanadas and 2 soft drinks from Parana Empanadas for $25.

Tickets to the San Diego International Film Festival Drive-In Movies @ Westfield UTC start at $30 per car. For more information, visit sdfilmfest.com/drive-in-westfieldutc.
