Via Adriano Italian Deli & Gelateria To Unveil This Week In San Diego's Pacific Beach

September 28, 2020

The owner of San Diego's 11-year-old Enoteca Adriano has taken over the neighboring space next door to his restaurant to launch Via Adriano, an Italian deli and gelateria opening this week in Pacific Beach.

Native Italian Chef Francesco Tassone opened Enoteca Adriano in 2009 on a quiet stretch of Cass Street in San Diego's Pacific Beach. The restaurant, which has greatly expanded its outdoor space to deal with recently implemented social distancing precautions, has long been a destination for authentic Italian fare and wine. Earlier this summer, Tassone took over the neighboring 900 square-foot retail space that previously served as a wellness center to open Pacific Beach's first Italian delicatessen.

Via Adriano will open on Friday, October 2, with a menu featuring a variety of Italian delicacies, including ten signature panini sandwiches and rotating gelato flavors. Fresh made sandwiches will include the #3 with pastrami, gorgonzola dulce, cherry peppers and arugula; #7 with imported prosciutto, burrata, fig cream and walnuts; the #8 with mortadella, pesto ricotta, pistachio. There will also be a daily chicken cutlet sandwich special and a deli counter slicing cheese and salumis by weight. Via Adriano will also have a market component with a variety of imported items, as well as frequently changing hot and cold dishes like lasagna, arancini, meatballs, soups, eggplant parmiggiano, farro salad, and octopus and calamari salad. Patrons will be able to take their food to go or enjoy it at Enoteca Adriano's recently-constructed outdoor dining area.

Via Adriano will open from 11am to 4pm daily starting on October 2 at 4856 Cass Street in San Diego's Pacific Beach. For more information, visit enotecaadriano.com and check out the panini menu below.
