Chicken Headz To Replace Livingston's In San Diego's Ocean Beach

November 5, 2020

Moving into the space adjacent to Sunshine Company Saloon in San Diego Ocean Beach that was last occupied by Livingtston's Mexican Grill and Chicken Kitchen for more than two decades is Chicken Headz, a fried chicken eatery set to open next month.

Livingtston's Mexican Grill and Chicken Kitchen was attached to Sunshine Company Saloon in Ocean Beach for over 20 years but the eatery shuttered in February 2020. Allegedly, the owner wanted to retire and closed suddenly without much notice. The space has been taken over by Bruno Elias and Martin Robles, two former employees of nearby burger destination Hodad's.

Chicken Headz is expected to open as early as December 1, featuring a concise menu of fried chicken on a stick, combo fried chicken meals with cornbread, fried chicken po'boy sandwiches, chicken & waffles, and an array of sides and extras like tequila lime slaw, mac n' cheese, mashed potatoes with gravy, popcorn chicken, fried pickles and mushrooms. As far as drinks go, patrons will be able to grab an alcoholic beverage from Sunshine Company or enjoy red or purple Kool-Aid "drank" from Chicken Headz.

Chicken Headz is located at 5026 Newport Avenue in San Diego's Ocean Beach. For more information, visit chickenheadzsd.com and check out the menu below.
