Fresh off the opening of a location in Point Loma, growing San Diego-based Middle Eastern fast-casual chain The Kebab Shop is already working on a La Jolla outpost.
A.J. Akbar and Tony Farmand took over the original location of The Kebab Shop in San Diego’s East Village in 2008. Since then, they have opened 18 more locations around San Diego, Orange County, the Bay Area, and Austin TX, with more on the way. The Kebab Shop's fast-casual menu consists of Turkish Döner kebabs, shawarma plates, fresh salads and sides including hot french fries and saffron rice.
The newest The Kebab Shop location will open in early 2021 in the space that last housed Daphne's within La Jolla Village Square plaza. Like other branches, expect a menu of Shawarma sandwiches on soft, fluffy rolls, shish kebab plates, rotisserie plates, Iskender kebab, Saffron rice and a selection of fresh salads including the Bebe Caprese salad, Tabouli, and Algerian Eggplant salad.
