Watch San Diego's Little Italy Tree Lighting Ceremony Live

December 5, 2020

Tune in at 5:30pm on December 5 for an evening of music, cheer, storytelling and more as the annual Little Italy tree lighting transforms into a "Hallmark-style" Holiday Special, a production that all San Diego can enjoy from the comfort and safety of your home.

With the announcement of continued restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, San Diego's Little Italy Association has adapted its time-honored tradition, the Little Italy Tree Lighting & Christmas Village, to become a virtual event for the safety of the general public. This year's Little Italy Holiday Special will feature the much-awaited tree lighting led by Little Italy Association leadership with an Italian countdown by Father Joe Tabigue of Our Lady of the Rosary, a musical performance by Our Lady of the Rosary Choir in the historically renovated Church, a reading of Twas the Night Before Christmas by Santa & Mrs. Claus and more.

People are asked to reserve a free ticket to watch the event. You can also show your support by sponsoring an ornament on the Piazza della Famiglia Christmas Tree. Donors will have their name or family name displayed on a sign next to the tree for the month of December.

Watch the Little Italy Holiday Special below, starting at 5:30pm on Saturday, December 5.
