El Prez Owner Unveils Flamingo Deck In San Diego's Pacific Beach

January 7, 2021

The owners of El Prez and The Truck Stop are continuing to expand in San Diego's Pacific Beach with the unveiling of Flamingo Deck, a new bar & restaurant now open for take-out in the former Tony Roma's space within the Promenade at Pacific Beach shopping plaza.

Pacific Beach Restaurant Group Limited Partnership was founded by Aaron Phillips in 2011 with the opening of The Beachwood (which has since been rebranded to El Prez Beach Bar & Cocina) within the Promenade at Pacific Beach. The company also owns and operates several other Pacific Beach bars & eateries, including Truckstop, PB Avenue, Woody's, Candy’s Boom Room (formerly Red's Saloon), and the newest concept Flamingo Deck.

Flamingo Deck has been in the works for a couple years now at the space just steps from the beach previously occupied by Tony Roma's, which shuttered in mid-2016. Due to the ongoing prohibition on onsite dining, the new bar & restaurant currently only serves a limited menu of house made pizza, pasta and salad for takeout. Flamingo Deck will eventually fully open once the stay-at-home restrictions are lifted, at that time offering an expanded New American scratch-made menu with a California twist from Chef Gavin Mills, who previously worked as Executive Chef at Los Angeles's Miro Restaurant and Wood & Vine. The full menu will include tapas-style share plates, fresh pasta made in-house, entrees ranging from ribeye, salmon, and lamb, as well as several salads to choose from, gluten free pasta, pizza options and a full bar.

Flamingo Deck is now open for takeout from 4-9pm daily at 4110 Mission Boulevard in Pacific Beach. For more information, visit flamingodeck.com and check out the menu below.
