San Diego's Popular Pizzeria Luigi To Open Ocean Beach Location

January 13, 2021

Later this year, Italian-born Luigi Agostini will debut the fourth San Diego outpost of his popular NYC-style Pizzeria Luigi restaurant in the space currently occupied by Bravo's Mexican Bistro & Cantina in Ocean Beach.

First opened in 2004, Pizzeria Luigi has come to be known as one of the top New York City-style pizza parlors in San Diego. It's locations in North Park & Golden Hill have gained a loyal following, even appearing more than once on installments of Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives on the Food Network. In 2016, a third San Diego branch of Pizzeria Luigi opened in the South County city of Imperial Beach.

Bravo's Mexican Bistro & Cantina will permanently shutter by month's end. At that time,  Agostini  will begin renovations of the space to transform it to Pizzeria Luigi. Expect menu favorites like the Crime Scene pizza with ricotta, meatball and marinara dots and the Leonardo with mozzarella, parmesan and pesto. The restaurant will also offer vegetarian and vegan pizza, salads, wings, stromboli, calzones, pizza rolls, sandwiches, pasta dishes, and is hoping to transfer Bravo's full liquor license so they can sell spirits, cocktails, beer and wine.

Pizzeria Luigi is anticipated to open by this summer at 5001 Newport Avenue in San Diego's Ocean Beach. For more information, visit pizzerialuigi.com and check out the menu below.
