San Diego's Pure Project Brewing To Open New Locations In North Park & Vista

January 4, 2021

San Diego's 5-year-old Pure Project Brewing is gearing up for a big expansion year with plans to open new locations in North Park and Vista.

Jesse Pine and Mat Robar initially hoped to open their craft brewery in the Central America country of Costa Rica, but administrative hurdles forced them to settle on San Diego. With experienced brewmaster Winslow Sawyer on board, the team first launched in a 1,625 square foot space with a 7-barrel brewing system within HG Fenton's Brewery Igniter campus in Miramar in January 2016 and has become one of San Diego's leading craft beer destinations known for their delicious brews made with quality ingredients. The craft brewery also has tasting rooms in Bankers Hill and Carlsbad Village.

In 2021, Pure Project Brewing will open two additional locations. The company has taken over the nearly 14,000 brewery space in Vista that last housed Iron Fist Brewing and was previously set to become a new brewery from Resident Brewing. That outpost will eventually serve as the company's primary brewing location. Pure Project will also open another huge spot in North Park, taking over the 7,000-square-foot space with a 5,000 square foot outdoor area at 2867 El Cajon Boulevard that last housed an auto repair shop. The North Park branch will have a large outdoor beer garden and is expected to open in summer 2021.
