A Champagne-Fueled Cat Lounge Is Opening In San Diego's Pacific Beach

February 26, 2021

A champagne-fueled cat lounge is coming to San Diego. Cat Palace by Champagne Queen is set to open next month in Pacific Beach.

Cat Palace by Champagne Queen will be a combination non-profit cat lounge and royalty-themed retail store where all proceeds go back into the organization and to its volunteers. Patrons will enter on a red carpet straight into a sparkly reception area with tons of disco balls and an Instagram-worthy champagne wall. Cat Palace will be sited in the main room with the Champagne Queen boutique accessible through a pink hallway.

"The Cat Palace by Champagne Queen concept is to love and celebrate the cat kingdom like royalty," explained Champagne Queen founder Tara Boornazian. "The inspiration comes from one of the founders' 9 year old daughter who loves petting kitties and saved one from a shelter. Also we want to bring together the Pacific Beach community to celebrate and enjoy each other. Our goal is to save kitties from kill shelters and provide a hub of positivity for the community. Cat Palace and Champagne Queen Boutique will be a hub of positivity for Pacific Beach."

Expected to open at some point this March, Cat Palace is conceptualized around a philosophy that life should be celebrated every day. Patrons 21 years of age and older will receive complimentary champagne and sparkling grape juice for non-drinkers and those underage. The space will also offer light "royal" snacks and finger foods for purchase. On certain days of the week, Cat Palace will host events like Royal High Tea Time with the kitties, Purrfect painting lessons, and yoga with kittens. All cats will be up for adoption and those considering adoption will be offered one-on-one playtime.

Cat Palace by Champagne Queen will open this spring at 4125 Mission Boulevard in San Diego's Pacific Beach.
