100% Vegan Bakery Split Bakehouse Opens In San Diego's La Mesa

February 27, 2021

A wholly vegan bakery has opened in San Diego. Split Bakehouse is now serving a menu of plant-based baked goods in San Diego's East County community of La Mesa.

In 2018, Vanessa Corrales launched Split Bakehouse as a roving modern bakery concept dishing out a menu of vegan and traditional pastries to restaurants and coffee shops around San Diego County. The bakery is now 100% plant-based with baked goods cooked up daily by Executive Pastry Chef Pablo Mendez

Earlier this month, Corrales launched the first brick-and-mortar location of Split Bakehouse at the Grossmont Center outdoor mall in La Mesa. Split offers a large variety of sweet and savory vegan baked goods and laminated pastries.  Highlights include vegan cheezecakes, Thai tea pastry cream cruffins, beet mozarella & sage biscuits, jalapeno cheese savory galettes, bagels, and so much more. Split is currently offering items for take-away through a takeout window near the Grossmont Center's food court.

Split Bakehouse is now open from 11am to 6pm daily at 5500 Grossmont Center Drive in San Diego's La Mesa. For more information, visit splitbakehouse.com.
