Newly Launched WestBrew Craft Brewery Targets San Diego's East Village For Second Area Restaurant & Tasting Room

March 24, 2021

Less than a year after launching in San Diego's North County area of Vista, WestBrew Brewery is already moving forward with the company's second tasting room and restaurant, set to open this spring in San Diego's East Village.

WestBrew founder Joshua Scheer is a longtime home brewer and the product of a brewer’s bloodline, with both of his great grandfathers being avid brewers. WestBrew brewery is the product of a lifelong goal and Scheer just celebrated its grand opening last October with the unveiling of the company's 2,000 square-foot production facility and tasting room in Vista. Less than 2 weeks after their grand opening, WestBrew took over the 2,400-square-foot indoor/outdoor space on the main thoroughfare of Del Mar that last housed Craft Burrito Company (and the short-lived Tasting Room Del Mar before that) and launched a 20 tap tasting room and eatery. WestBrew features a variety of beer styles, including the La Costa IPA, Moonlight Haze IPA, Mosaic Surfer Pale Ale, Hazy by the Sea Hazy IPA, Righteous Surf IPA, WestBrew Blonde, WestBrew Pils, as well as a variety of flavored hard seltzers.

The second area WestBrew tasting room and restaurant is set to open as early as this May in downtown San Diego. In addition to offering 20 taps of WestBrew craft beers and hard ciders for onsite consumption and take-away, the bar & eatery will also present a curated list of California wines and a Mexican influenced, California inspired food menu with house-made sausages, shareable plates, sandwiches and desserts.

WestBrew Restaurant & Tasting Room is anticipated to open May 1 at 701 Island Avenue in San Diego's East Village.  For more information, visit westbrew.com.
