Nick's Restaurant, an American steak and seafood eatery with 5 locations around California's Orange County and one already in San Diego, will open a branch in Carlsbad.
The first location of Nick's Restaurant was opened by Nick Nickoloff (who is the son of the founder of Claim Jumper restaurants) in Laguna Beach in 2008 and now has additional outposts in San Clemente, Long Beach, Manhattan Beach, Pasadena, and Del Mar's One Paseo. The restaurants feature a classic American comfort food menu and a California-style open-air decor.
The second San Diego location of Nick's will install within the brand new State Street Commons, which is an adaptive reuse and major renovation of the former antique mall in the heart of Carlsbad Village. Nick's will share the building will fellow tenants Warner Bros. Games, Lofty Coffee, Pacific Sotheby’s and Blacktop Restaurant Group. Dubbed Nick's On State, the restaurant is expected to open in third quarter 2021 and will serve a menu of upscale-yet-casual dishes complimented by a sophisticated and approachable design and a full bar.
