The Swan Tavern & Still To Replace Beerfish In San Diego's North Park

March 22, 2021

Replacing seafood-focused Beerfish in San Diego's North Park is The Swan Tavern & Still, a craft distillery and burger eatery set to unveil as early as this summer.

After nearly 2 years in development, Abel Kaase opened Beerfish in July 2016 with a seafood-centric menu and a wide selection of local craft beer. Last December, after being broken into earlier in the month and amid a forced shutdown of onsite dining, the restaurant was closed on what was to be a temporary basis.

Kaase has decided to reconceptualize the bar and restaurant and is in the process of building The Swan Tavern & Still. The 1,500 square-foot interior and 1,300 square-foot outdoor patio will undergo a full remodel with distillery equipment to be installed in order to produce an array of craft spirits. The restaurant will shift its focus from seafood to burgers. Being Kaase was one-time the owner of Point Loma's now-defunct burger & adult beverage destination Sessions Public, he is poised to present a menu of signature burgers to pair well with cocktails. The bar will continue to carry a wide variety of local San Diego craft beer.

The Swan Tavern & Still is expected to open as early as this July at 2933 Adams Avenue in San Diego's North Park. Follow the concept on Instagram to stay up to date.
