Brunch-Focused Breakfast Bitch To Make Return To San Diego's Hillcrest

April 7, 2021

All-day brunch destination Breakfast Bitch has decided to make a return to San Diego's Hillcrest neighborhood, reopening with a refreshed look on Thursday, April 15.

Breakfast Bitch was opened in July 2019 in San Diego's Hillcrest community, with a second outpost launched in Phoenix, AZ, in November 2020. The restaurant concept is owned and operated by former pro-footballer Derrell Hutsona and his wife Tracii, who both also operate Elite Lux Life VIP concierge services and lifestyle management in the Los Angeles area. In early February 2021, ownership announced they would not be reopening the Hillcrest outpost due to COVID-19 restrictions, but as rules begin to relax, they've decided to revive their original spot as they build out a larger space in San Diego's North Park community. Once the North Park branch opens, the Hillcrest restaurant will likely remain open as a takeout hub or neighborhood grab and go.

"We are re-opening Breakfast bitch and Hillcrest until we can be fully permitted and ready to go in a larger location," explained Breakfast Bitch founder Tracii Hutsona. "That will take some time, so we decided to take this time out for a little remodel. We have a bar counter now and replaced equipment - put a little sweat into it ourselves. My husband and our loyal manager Dan worked on repainting the place inside and out, showing our personality a little in the esthetics. The world seems to be re-emerging finally, and we're ready to safely open! We'd live for you to come by and check it out!"

Breakfast Bitch is an all-day brunch restaurant that offers a menu of cheeky-named items like croissant sandwiches, egg plates, and create-your-own pancakes, complimented by a drink menu featuring Bloody Marys, mimosas, bellinis and CBD spritzers. The concept will grand reopen the original branch with a full weekend of DJ-fueled brunches starting April 15.

Breakfast Bitch is located at 3825 Fifth Avenue in San Diego's Hillcrest. For more information, visit eatbreakfastbitch.com.
