Fresh off last year's opening of its first San Diego location, Los Angeles-based Main Chick Hot Chicken is already gearing up for a second outpost in America's Finest City.
Eric Dela Cruz started Main Chick Hot Chicken restaurant as a night market vendor before launching the first brick-and-mortar location in Los Angeles' West Hollywood in December 2019. The fast-casual chicken chain now has four locations with more on the way. Similar to Dave's Hot Chicken, Main Chick serves a concise menu of Nashville-style fried chicken in escalating degrees of spiciness. The founders also operated sister mini-chain Oi Asian Fusion, which has a location in San Diego's National City. The first San Diego branch of Main Chick opened in Clairemont Town Square last year.
San Diego's second Main Chick Hot Chicken eatery will open later this year in the 1,400 square-foot former Z Pizza space in Linda Vista. Like other branches, the restaurant will serve an expanded menu of Nashville-style fried spicy chicken sandwiches, tenders, and chicken on the bone, as well as a variety of side dishes. This location will also have a beer and wine license.
