Clem's Station To Replace Romeo & Julieta Wine Cafe In San Diego

April 26, 2021

The family behind Clem's Bottle House & Deli and Clem's Tap House have taken over the space previously occupied by Romeo & Julieta Wine Cafe in San Diego's Talmadge neighborhood to open a new bar & restaurant.

Wally Kasawdish opened Clem's Bottle House & Deli in San Diego's Kensington neighborhood in 1987. In 2012, with the help of his son Paul, Kasawdish took over a neighboring space behind his market to open Clem's Tap House, which offers 50 taps of mostly San Diego craft beer and a menu of sandwiches and snacks. After the recent closure of Romeo & Julieta Wine Cafe, the Kasawdish's took over the 2,732 square-foot space to open a new bar and restaurant.

Dubbed Clem's Station, the concept will be similar to Clem's Tap House but offer an expanded food menu, a curated and every-changing wine list, cocktails, and a devotion to local and rare beer. There will also be a retail bottle shop component to the business.

Clem's Station aims to open by mid-May at 4715 Monroe Avenue in San Diego's Talmadge community. For more information, visit clemsbottlehouse.com.
