White Elephant Asian Kitchen To Open In Former Amarin Thai Space In San Diego's Hillcrest

White Elephant Asian Kitchen will fuse the flavors of Southeast Asia when it opens next week in the space that long-housed Amarin Thai in San Diego's Hillcrest community. 

From founders Shaun Khounnoraj and Dusaya Sukarat, White Elephant Asian Kitchen will soft open on May 25 in the Hillcrest space that housed Amarin Thai for 22 years. White Elephant will offer a menu of dishes influenced by Southeast Asian countries Thai, Laos, and Vietnamese. 

Hightlight's from White Elephant's menu include Bánh Xèo - a savory Vietnamese crepe filled with pork belly, shrimp, bean-sprouts and topped with scallion and special sauce; White Elephant Noodle Soup - homemade rice noodles, chicken, onion, scallions, roasted garlic oil and topped with black pepper; and Gaeng Ped Yang duck curry - roasted duck in red curry sauce with green bell pepper, red bell pepper, cherry tomatoes, pineapple and fresh basil. The restaurant will also offer a variety of beer, wine, Thai iced tea and other soft drinks.
