Al Fresko is the product of Jenny Niezgoda, a Texas native and avid traveller who was raised in the hospitality industry. In 2016, Jenny created Al Fresko as a roving catering business that set up picnics and charcuterie stations around San Diego County. She recently secured a space at the new Tremont Collective retail and office building in Oceanside to open her first brick-and-mortar location of Al Fresko Handcrafted Culinary + Experiences. The 13,000 square-foot mixed-use development will also house a new location of San Diego-born beer shop and taproom concept Bottlecraft and a fast-casual seafood eatery and poke shop called Shootz Fish & Beer from the chef-owner of North County San Diego's hit sushi destination Wrench & Rodent Seabasstropub.
"Al Fresko Handcrafted Culinary + Experiences is the result of my love for gathering over good food and anything outdoors!", explained founder Jenny Niezgoda. "Growing up in Texas, family meals were important, dinner was a sacred space and living in nature was ingrained from a young age. Camping, fishing, and long road trips to the beaches of Texas are among my favorite memories from growing up in Texas. Our new brick and mortar concept in Oceanside was inspired by love for food, travel and also my grandfather. Growing up in Dallas, he had more than 14 mini market grocery stores that I frequented as a child."
Al Fresko Handcrafted Culinary + Experiences is anticipated to open as early as this July at 602 South Tremont Street, #103, in Oceanside. For more information, visit alfreskoexperience.com.
