San Diego Native & MasterChef Winner Claudia Sandoval To Partner With Ready-Made Meal Company Home Bistro

June 25, 2021

San Diego native and winner of Fox's MasterChef home cook competition, Claudia Sandoval is partnering with ready-made meal company Home Bistro to create a co-branded line of traditional Mexican dishes.

Home Bistro is a leading online platform that offers celebrity chef-inspired, gourmet ready-made meals shipped directly to consumers, and their most recent partnership is with San Diego's own Claudia Sandoval. Home Bistro's Chef Claudia meals are expected to be available to consumers by September 2021.

"We are extremely excited to partner with Chef Claudia and have her join our outstanding team of celebrity chefs," stated Home Bistro Inc.'s CEO Zalmi Duchman "With her flair for both traditional and modern Mexican cuisine, she adds a high growth component to the Home Bistro platform, as Mexican food is the 3rd most popular menu type in the U.S. In addition, we will be establishing exposure to the increasingly influential Hispanic consumer."

Raised in San Diego's National City, Claudia Sandoval won season 6 of Fox's hit primetime home cook competition MasterChef, being awarded with $250,000 in prize money and a cookbook deal. Claudia was also Tajín International's official chef and recipe creator in the United States, as well as a head judge on MasterChef Latino, a hit cooking competition on Telemundo. In 2015, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors proclaimed December 15 to be "Claudia Sandoval Day" throughout the County Of San Diego. In 2019, Claudia Sandoval launched a Kickstarter campaign seeking at least $50,000 to assist her in the opening of El Cochi Dorado ("the golden pig"), a Modern Mexican Bakery expected to open in National City in June 2020.

After raising nearly $60,000 from approximately 592 backers, Claudia Sandoval announced in April 2020 that her dreams to open a modern panaderia had been crushed due to the fallout of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. Claudia never accounted for what happened to all the money raised via Kickstarter.
