Mexican Burrito Chain KeBurros To Open First U.S. Location In San Diego

July 29, 2021

An expanding fast-casual burrito restaurant chain founded in the Mexican state of Sonora, KeBurros will soon open its first U.S. location in San Diego.

The first KeBurros was founded in 2011 in the city of Hermosillo, located in the state of Sonora in Northern Mexico. Now boasting more than 15 locations open and in the works around Mexico, KeBurros offers a menu centered around burro percheróns, a variation of the classic burrito that are larger in size than the traditional Mexican burro and usually stuffed with charcoal-roasted meats, avocado, Mexican cheese and other ingredients.

KeBurros will open its first United States branch in San Diego's National City, taking over the 2,400 square-foot standalone building previously occupied by Senór Pancho Cocina. Like other outposts, expect a menu of stuffed burritos, quesadillas, smothered fries and more, as well as the restaurant's signature bacon-wrapped burritos. The eatery will also offer beer, wine and Micheladas.

KeBurros is expected to open by year's end at 1539 E 8th Street in San Diego's South County city of National City. For more information, visit keburros.com.
