Shake & Wake To Bring Bagels, Bowls, Smoothies & Breakfast Sandwiches To San Diego's Pacific Beach

October 1, 2021

Shake & Wake has taken over the space that last housed Luigi's Gelateria in San Diego's Pacific Beach and will soon bring its morning-centric menu to the neighborhood.

Jesus Enrique Ruvalcaba Jr. started Shake & Wake in early 2014 as a vendor at the Calexico Farmer’s Market. He opened is first brick-and-mortar location in El Centro, CA, in mid-2017 and is now ready to expand into San Diego proper. Ruvalcaba has taken over the quaint unit previously occupied by Luigi's Gelateria in Pacific Beach and will offer a menu of Açai bowls, pitaya bowls, fresh fruit smoothies, cold-brew coffee, cold-pressed juices, salads, and croissant & bagel sandwiches. There will be both indoor and outdoor seating.

"The concept behind Shake & Wake is providing products made from scratch with quality ingredients," explained owner Jesus Ruvalcaba Jr. "We work with local vendors to support and become a part of the community around us. The inspiration behind Shake & Wake is the lack of quality fast food options in our world today I started from setting up at the local farmer’s market every other Saturday to having a brick and mortar location in El Centro, California with San Diego and Mexicali (international) openings just right around the corner."

Shake & Wake is anticipated to open at some point this November at 910 Grand Avenue, Suite 108, in San Diego's Pacific Beach. For more information, visit shakeandwakesmoothies.com
