Decades Old Irish Bar Rosie O'Grady's Reopens In San Diego's Normal Heights

November 25, 2021

After a long period of dormancy due to the pandemic and building code issues, San Diego's 38-year-old Irish bar Rosie O'Grady's has reopened in Normal Heights.

Rosie O'Grady's is a Chicago-style Irish bar founded in 1983 by Ron Stout. Over its decades-long tenure, the establishment has been bought and sold several times. Most recently, Rosie O'Grady's was acquired in 2019 by local hospitality company Social Syndicate, which also operates Monarch Ocean Pub, La Dona OB Cantina, The Local, OB Surf Lodge, The Rabbit Hole, The Local Pacific Beach, Wonderland Ocean Pub, and Bootlegger, as well as has partnership interests in Grand Ole BBQ and Blue Water Seafood Ocean Beach.

Rosie O'Grady's has been closed for the majority of the COVID-19 pandemic, but the bar reopened this week to much excitement. Expect a Chicago-inspired Irish menu from Social Syndicate Corporate Chef Craig Jiminez and a full bar with local beer and craft cocktails. In the near future, the space hopes to reintroduce live music to its repertoire.

Rosie O'Grady's is located at 3402 Adams Avenue in San Diego's Normal Heights. For more information, visit rosieogradyssd.com.
