An emerging concept from the
Wild Thyme Restaurant Group, a Long Beach company that is also
bringing a location of its Shorebird restaurant to San Diego's Seaport Village, Jay Bird's Nashville Hot Chicken is a quick-service restaurant that was founded in 2019 and now has six location. Like other Nashville hot chicken concepts (
Dave's,
Baba's,
Main Chick,
Angry Chickz,
Kluckin, etc.) the menu is centered around dry-spiced fried chicken at various heat levels, six to be exact. Jay Bird's is the product of Wild Thyme Director of Culinary Operations Chef Jay Bogsinske
The first location of Jay Bird's will open in The Forum mall in San Diego's North County community of Carlsbad. In addition to hormone-free chicken tenders and fries, Jay Bird offers a variety of chicken sandwiches, as well as bone-in fried chicken, chicken & waffles, chicken-topped fries with mac n' cheese, and several sides and sauces.
Jay Bird's Nashville Hot Chicken is expected to open by this spring at 1935 Calle Barcelona, Suite #172, in San Diego's Carlsbad. For more information, visit
