Wildwood Flour Bakery & Grocery Opening Soon In San Diego's Pacific Beach

February 24, 2022

Wildwood Flour is a scratch-made bakery, cafe and grocery opening soon in San Diego's Pacific Beach neighborhood.

Following a successful Kickstarter campaign earlier this year, San Diego natives Noah Orloff and Lauren Silver are nearly ready to bring their passion for home baking into their first bakery brick and mortar business. Orloff previously ran a bakery in Valley Center and worked at a bakery in Santa Cruz before moving back to San Diego. During the pandemic, the duo operated a cottage baking business and supplied bread to area eateries like La Jolla's Pannikin and El Pescador. They recently took over the 2,000 square-foot space that last housed ASIS Physical Therapy in Pacific Beach and will open Wildwood Flour Bakery & Grocery.

Wildwood Flour will offer a revolving variety of baked goods, naturally leavened sourdough bread, bagels, pastries, and more using ingredients from local farmers, including fresh wheat berries ground daily to make flour for baked goods. The space will also offer a line of grocery items, like handmade cheese, seasonal produce, dairy, eggs, canned goods, tinned fish, cured meats, fermented items, fresh jams, granola, spreads, pickled products, and even the company's fresh-ground flour for those looking to bake at home. The bakery will also offer a weekly-changing menu with sandwiches and toasts, as well as coffee and tea beverages.

Wildwood Flour Bakery & Grocery is anticipated to open by late spring at 1976 Garnet Avenue in San Diego's Pacific Beach. For more information, visit wildwoodflour.com.
