Dirty Birds restaurant in San Diego's Ocean Beach neighborhood was burglarized this week, and owners are hoping someone can identify the intruder.
"We had a burglary at Dirty Birds Ocean Beach early this morning," read a post by Shawnn Silverman on Nextdoor.com. "Suspect entered with a crow bar. He was wearing a red Vans sweatshirt, bright blue New Balance sneakers, blue shorts, tattoo on his left calf and black socks. Took away cash drawer, safe, red wagon (with LAGWGN license plate) and a framed camouflage David Wells jersey. Car and suspect are included in the pics below."
The burglary of Dirty Birds occured in the early morning hours on Wednesday, June 1, at 1929 Cable Street in San Diego's Ocean Beach community. People report seeing the suspect near the 7-11 on Midway close to Wal-Greens, frequently wearing the same red sweatshirt. Anyone with information is asked to contact the San Diego Police Department at 619.744.9500.
Dirty Birds founders Jon Ollis and Adam Jacoby opened the restaurant’s original location in Pacific Beach in 2008, followed by a second in 2015 near the college area of San Diego State University. The third branch of Dirty Birds debuted within Liberty Station in Point Loma in December 2016. In 2019, Dirty Birds launched its 4th location within Ocean Beach Plaza. In 2020, the 5th area location of Dirty Birds sports bar and grill has opened on the University of California San Diego campus in La Jolla in the space that housed Round Table Pizza for almost three decades.
