Now open in San Diego's Kearny Mesa is Taste of Hong Kong, an award-winning Cantonese dim sum restaurant from China.
Established as Cui House in 2010 in Kunming, China, Taste of Hong Kong specializes in Cantonese dim sum and authentic Cantonese cuisines. During its tenure as Cui House in China, the restaurant was listed in the Black Pearl Restaurant Guide (China's version of Michelin Guide). Hoping to spread the culture of authentic Cantonese cuisine in the United States, Cui House expanded to San Diego, renaming itself Taste of Hong Kong.
Taste of Hong Kong recently opened in the space previously occupied by Kangxi Is Coming in the Convoy Street shopping plaza that also houses Manna BBQ, CoCo Ichibanya and Hive Karaoke. Highlights from the expansive menu include Cantonese roast duck, French-style steak, braised pork belly with preserved vegetables, and salted egg yolk chicken wings. The restaurant also sells a small selection of bottle beers.
