Country Waffles To Replace La Miche Kabobgee In San Diego's Kearny Mesa Neighborhood

January 14, 2023

A 22-year-old branch of Northern California-based Country Waffles Breakfast & Lunch is on the move in San Diego and will soon install in the space that last housed La Miche Kabobgee restaurant in Kearny Mesa.

The first Country Waffles restaurant location was opened California's Bay Area in May 1991 by H.T. "Chic" Brooks. At one point, the franchisable restaurant chain grew to 35 locations around the state. Two Diego locations of Country Waffles opened in 2001, one on Midway in Point Loma and another on Balboa Avenue that has since closed.

The Midway Drive branch of Country Waffles will soon relocated to the Clairemont Mesa Boulevard unit that has housed La Miche Kabobgee Lebanese restaurant since 2013. Country Waffles serves American breakfast and lunch diner staples including omelettes, scrambles, breakfast platters, waffles, crepes, Benedicts, sandwiches, burgers, salads, chicken and waffles and more. The restaurant will also serve beer and wine at the new location.

Country Waffles is expected to relocate from 2323 Midway Drive in Point Loma to 9350 Clairemont Mesa Boulevard in Kearny Mesa later this month. For more information, visit countrywaffles.com
