Gordon Ramsay Visits San Diego-Based Hells Kitchen Restaurant To Film For New Season Of MasterChef

February 15, 2023

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is in San Diego to visit the North County location of Hell's Kitchen restaurant, where he is filming for his next season of Fox's hit MasterChef cooking competition series.

Multi-Michelin star chef and the star of multiple television programs, Gordon Ramsay is in town checking out his San Diego location of Hell's Kitchen restaurant for the very first time. Ramsay arrived at Harrah’s Resort Southern California early this morning for the filming of the "top six" contestant episode of Fox's season 13 of MasterChef. It is believed the episode will track the contestants as they take over the restaurant's kitchen for a high stakes service. The episode is not expected to air until the series releases this summer. Most of the series is filmed in a production studio in Los Angeles County.

In August 2022, the 332-seat Hells Kitchen restaurant opened within Harrah's SoCal in Northern San Diego County. The largest of the six Hells Kitchen restaurants sited around the world, the space boasts several chef's tables, floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the casino, red and blue show kitchens, a private dining room and a contemporary bar serving a full cocktail list, beer and wine. Since opening, Hells Kitchen SoCal has served more than 21,000 Beef Wellingtons and over 23,000 Sticky Toffee Puddings, two of Chef Ramsay's most popular signature dishes.

In interviews about his visit to San Diego, Ramsay mentioned checking in on another local celebrity chef, Richard Blais. Both Ramsay and Blais, along with Nyesha Arrington, are judges on Fox's Next Level Chef cooking competition, which premiered its season 2 last Sunday night following the Super Bowl. Chef Richard Blais has opened several restaurants around San Diego County over the years, most recently unveiling his California English eatery earlier this month in Sorrento Mesa.

Hell's Kitchen restaurant is located at 777 S Resort Drive in Valley Center within Harrah’s Resort Southern California. For more information, visit harrahssocal.com/dining/hells-kitchen.
