Rosemarie's Burgers To Bring Gourmet Sliders To San Diego's Mission Beach

March 19, 2023

The team behind popular area food truck Rosemarie's Burgers will soon open the company's first brick-and-mortar restaurant in San Diego's Mission Beach.

After leaving the military, Nick Bálsamo found private sector life to be a tad unfulfilling, so he decided to travel to Asia and work as a chef in Hong Kong for a couple years. He eventually returned stateside, harnessed his cooking skills and launched Where To Eat California, a collective of businesses that include a catering company named Festa Supper Club, a food truck named Strada that served Asian street food, and Rosemarie's Burgers food truck, a roaming San Diego-based gourmet slider eatery named after his grandmother.

Bálsamo has recently signed a lease starting this May to take over the Mission Beach space that has housed NoW Sushi since early 2019. When Rosemarie's opens this spring, the food menu will include an array of slider sandwiches, loaded fries, and other globally-inspired specialties. Highlights from the slider menu include The Classic Wagyu slider with sautéed Maui sweet onion confit, jack cheese, and Kewpie mayo; Bombay Hot Chicken with fried chicken thigh, pickled veg and housemade spicy curry sauce; and We Have Eggplant with fried eggplant, Korean BBQ sauce, pickled cabbage and Kewpie Mayo. The eatery will also serve craft beer, wine and soft drinks.

Rosemarie's is anticipated to open as early as May 1 at 3852 Mission Boulevard in San Diego's Mission Beach. For more information, visit wheretoeatcalifornia.com/rosemaries.
