Temakeria Brings Japanese & Brazilian Fusion To San Diego's Pacific Beach

March 24, 2023

Recently launched in San Diego's Pacific Beach neighborhood is Temakeria, an eatery specializing in Japanese-Brazilian fusion sushi hand rolls.

Temakeria is a new Brazilian-Japanese food stand operating from a tiny food trailer off Balboa Avenue in Pacific Beach. Founded by two Brazilian friends that believed America's finest City to be the perfect fit for these healthy, fresh and delicious rolls, the eatery makes a variety of sushi hand rolls made with seafood sourced every morning. Temaki in Japanese means "with the hands" and the rolls are popular throughout Brazil and beyond. The space offers a dog-friendly, mural-lined outdoor seating area.

Highlights from Temakeria's menu include Salmon & Shimeji with diced salmon, sauteed simeji mushroom, shari Japanese rice and green onion; Tuna with diced tuna, shari, sesame seeds and green onion; and Ceviche with diced tilapia, shari, sliced chili pepper, red onion, cilantro and a splash of lime. There is even a vegan hand roll filled with sauteed shimeji mushroom and the eatery sells Brazilian soda.

Temakeria is now open every day besides Tuesday at 1954 Balboa Avenue in San Diego's Pacific Beach. For more information, follow Temakeria on Instagram
