Los Angeles-based build-your-own hot pot chain YinTang Spicy Hot Pot is opening a second San Diego location.
YinTang Spicy Hot Pot was founded in Los Angeles in 2018 and now has locations in LA's Arcadia, Rowland Heights, and Monterey Park neighborhoods. The concept offers a do-it-yourself menu of Taiwanese-style hot pot soup where customers select from buffet carts filled with meat, noodles, seafood, and vegetable to add to the restaurant's signature bone broth to make their own perfect creation. The first San Diego location on YinTang opened last year in the space that last housed A-Bowl Chinese restaurant in Convoy Pointe Plaza in Kearny Mesa.
YinTang will soon take over the unit currently occupied by The Fancy Fish next door to H Mart in San Diego's Mira Mesa neighborhood. Like other branches, the menu will have over 70 ingredients to choose to add to broth and customers will fill their empty bowl with item, then are charged based on the overall weight of their soup. There will also be various spice levels to choose from and once fully customized, the staff takes the bowl to the kitchen and finishes the soup.
