A 59-year-old man has died after being beaten at a South County San Diego restaurant. Police are now searching for the assailant.
Jose Perez-Fong has died after being assaulted on the crowded dance floor at Papagayos Grill & Cantina on Otay Lakes Road near Eastlake Parkway in Chula Vista on April 15. The assailant remains unidentified and police are looking for suspects. The reason for the fatal attack remains unknown. Perez-Fong was reportedly out with friends celebrating a recent promotion.
Following the attach, Perez-Fong was taken to a hospital and treated in an intensive care unit. He had multiple skull fractures and multiple brain bleeds so was intubated and sedated for traumatic brain injury. He died on Friday, April 21.
