Techo Beso Rooftop Lounge & Restaurant Ready To Open In San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter

May 3, 2023

Opening next week in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter is Techo Beso, a 4,645 square-foot rooftop restaurant and lounge inspired by Mexico's famous beachside destination of Tulum.

AC Hotels by Marriott is a European-style boutique hotel that unveiled this past March in the heart of downtown San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter. The seven-story, 147-room hotel has its main entrance on Fifth Avenue between G & F Street where T.G.I. Friday's and McFadden’s Restaurant & Saloon previously sat. In addition to a lobby bar with small bites and beverages, the property will soon feature a rooftop bar named Techo Beso and a speakeasy cocktail bar dubbed Eden Park.

Opening on May 10, will be inspired by the energy and culture of love found in South America. Meaning "rooftop kiss" in Spanish. Techo Beso was designed by John M. Sofio of Built, Inc., who spent time in Mexico's Tulum to draw inspiration for the space.

Expect a main bar area with a DJ-fueled gathering lounge featuring comfortable seating options that connect to the hotel's main pool deck a few steps above. The pool will offer guests to a second terrace bar. Designed as a separate world from the surrounding environment below, Techo Beso will have sprawling views of downtown San Diego, as well as a menu of Latin-American inspired tapas and hand-crafted cocktails made with house-made syrups and fresh juices. On the lower level of the AC Hotel, Eden Park will open next year with an intimate cocktail lounge ambiance and a menu of small plates and a full bar with creative libations.

Techo Beso will open on Wednesday, May 10, at 743 5th Avenue in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter. For more information and to make reservations, visit techobeso.com.
