Copper Kings Burgers Ready To Unveil In San Diego's North County

October 7, 2023

Popular area smash burger pop-up Copper Kings is nearly ready to unveil its first brick-and-mortar restaurant in San Diego's North County.

Jonathan Petr launched Copper Kings Burgers in late 2020 as a roving pop-up, serving house made smash burgers at various San Diego breweries and events over its nearly three year tenure. The company recently signed on to open its first brick-and-mortar location in the space currently occupied by Up In Smoke BBQ in San Diego's North County city of San Marcos.

In addition to its menu of signature, smash burgers on house-made Japanese milk buns, the incoming Copper Kings restaurant will have an expanded menu of American tavern fare and a Sunday breakfast service. The restaurant will also offer a selection of beer and wine. The Copper Kings mobile kitchen will continue to deploy for brewery pop-ups and private catering events.

"Along with our current menu offerings, we'll be permanently adding some customer-favorite legacy specials like the Reuben, the Western Burger, and the G.O.A.T., various loaded fries and tater tots, and introducing a thoughtful selection of salads and desserts to make sure there's a little bit of something for everyone," explained Petr. "As always, all ingredients that can be made in house from scratch will continue to be. The new space will include an indoor dining room, outdoor covered patio, and a beer and wine license - We very much look forward to offering local beers on tap, along with Guinness and Kilkenny on nitro (as a nod to my business partner, Dermot Owens, who hails from Belfast, Northern Ireland). We're aiming for a grand opening date of October 9th, which is coincidentally Copper Kings Burgers' third anniversary."

Copper Kings Burgers will open on Monday, October 16 at 925 West San Marcos Boulevard, Suite B in San Diego's North County city of San Marcos. For more information, visit copperkingsburgers.com.
